Turn 21 on the road up to l'Alpe d'Huez.
When a Tour de France stage ends at l'Alpe d'Huez, that stage
winner's name is honored on one of the 21 switchback turns.
Fausto Coppi, the great Italian cyclist, was the first winner.
Lance Armstrong, the stage winner in the 2001 tour will share the turn
as the 22nd winner. Coincidently, Fausto Coppi and Lance Armstrong
have been the only two l'Alpe d'Huez stage winners to also win the
the overall race in the same year!
